Two Brothers Removals | Tips when moving homeIf you’re moving home, it can be a stressful time. But, with a little planning and preparation, you can make your move as stress-free as possible. Moving home is exciting, but it can also be stressful. Here are some tips to help you get through the process.

Planning your move

Before you start packing, make sure you have a good idea of what you’re going to take with you and what you’re going to leave behind.

If you’re planning a long distance move, consider hiring a removal company. They’ll pack up your belongings and transport them safely across country (or further). If you want to keep control over the packing process, hire a professional packer instead.

Utilities – Make sure all your utilities are in order – contact your energy provider and ask them to schedule an appointment for when they’ll come round and turn off or switch on any meters that need moving.

Planning is key – start planning at least six weeks before you move day. This will give you time to organise packing and cleaning, plus find out where your new home is and how long it will take to get there

Make sure you have enough boxes – if you don’t have enough boxes, ask friends or family members if they have any spare ones they don’t need anymore or head down to your local bunnings warehouse, they generally have boxes available for free.

Get everything ready before packing – this includes recycling any rubbish, packaging up any loose items like old clothes etc., and making sure every room is spotless

Don’t forget about pets – if transporting pets with you on the move, get them microchipped and vaccinated beforehand so that they can travel safely.

Moving home can be a stressful experience, but it doesn’t have to be. Whether you’re moving house for the first time or are a seasoned mover. For more information or free advice on moving homes, contact Two Brothers Removals today, we’ve got you covered.
