We load in Sydney, drive the Hume, and unload in Melbourne with our own people. Nothing gets tipped into a shared warehouse and re-handled three times, which is where most interstate damage happens.
Every item is inventoried and labelled by room, so unloading is fast and you're not hunting for the kettle at 9pm.
Interstate pricing is based on volume, not hours. A studio is very different to a four bedroom house with a shed. Access matters too — Melbourne's inner north has plenty of narrow single-lane streets where a semi simply can't park, so we plan a smaller shuttle truck where needed.
Flexible on dates? Say so. Sliding a day either side of a weekend often saves several hundred dollars.
Check your new street for clearway and permit-zone parking; some City of Yarra and Port Phillip streets need a council permit for a removal truck and they take days to issue. We'll tell you if your address looks like one of them.
If you're heading into an apartment, book the lift and loading dock now. Melbourne buildings are strict about time slots and we'd rather move you at 8am than be turned away at noon.
