How Much Do Removalists Cost in Sydney
How much do removalists cost in Sydney in 2026?

Hourly rates, what a 2-bedroom move really costs, and the sneaky extras to ask about before you book.
The short answer
Most Sydney removalists charge by the hour, with the truck and crew bundled into one rate. In 2026 a two-person crew with a mid-size truck usually sits between $130 and $180 an hour, and a three-person crew with a larger truck between $180 and $240.
A one-bedroom unit inside the same region typically takes 3 to 4 hours. A three-bedroom house with a garage and a shed is more often 6 to 8. That is where the real cost lives β not in the hourly rate, but in how many hours the job honestly takes.
Where quotes blow out
Travel time between depots, stairs fees, heavy-item fees, wrapping materials charged per blanket, and a callout fee that appears on the invoice but never on the quote. Ask about every one of those before you book, and ask for the answer in writing.
We quote a fixed hourly rate with the crew, truck, blankets, trolleys, straps and floor protection included, plus a realistic hour range for your specific job. If it runs shorter, you pay for less time.

How to compare quotes properly
Give every company the same information: room count, address at both ends, stairs or lift, parking, and anything oversized like a piano, pool table or double-door fridge. A quote given without those details is a guess that gets corrected on moving day.

Saif is the one you'll usually meet on the driveway. More than 7,000 Sydney moves later he still runs the daily schedule, briefs each crew before they leave the depot, and jumps on the jobs with tight access, heavy pianos or a same-day deadline.
He built the way we wrap and load: blankets on every timber edge, mattress covers as standard, straps against the wall of the truck rather than through your furniture. If a job runs into a stairwell nobody measured or a lift the building forgot to book, Saif is the phone call that sorts it out while the crew keeps working.
