How to choose a removalist in Sydney (and what to avoid)

Insurance, licensing, written quotes and the warning signs behind a suspiciously cheap hourly rate.
Check the boring things first
Ask for proof of goods-in-transit and public liability insurance, and an ABN you can look up. Ask whether the crew are employees or casual day labour β trained crews are the difference between a wardrobe that arrives whole and one that arrives in pieces.
Read reviews for patterns, not scores
A handful of five-star reviews means nothing. Hundreds of reviews that repeat the same themes β on time, careful, price matched the quote β means a lot. Look for how the company responds when something goes wrong, because occasionally it does.

The cheap-rate trap
A rate well under the market usually comes back in other ways: two people doing a three-person job, a truck too small so the move takes two trips, or materials billed per item at the end. Compare the total realistic cost, not the headline rate.

About the author: Nawar
Co-founder & Quoting β Two Brothers Removals
Nawar started with a single truck in Middleton Grange in 2009, and today he's the voice on the other end of the phone. He quotes almost every job we do, which means he has walked through, measured or asked about tens of thousands of Sydney homes β from Liverpool walk-ups to Oran Park new builds and Northern Beaches interstate loads.
His rule is simple: no surprises on invoice day. He works out how many hours a job honestly needs, tells you what could stretch it, and puts the inclusions in writing before you commit. He also handles insurance, licensing paperwork and the building forms high-rise moves always need.
