Moving House Checklist Sydney
The Sydney moving checklist we give our own customers

Four weeks out to moving morning β lift bookings, strata paperwork, parking permits and the box you should pack last.
Four weeks out
Book your removalist and your lift at the same time. Sydney apartment buildings often need 2 to 3 weeks notice plus a certificate of currency from your mover β we send ours straight to building management.
Start on the rooms you barely use: linen cupboard, garage shelves, the spare room wardrobe. Label by destination room, not by contents.
One week out
Sort utilities, internet and mail redirection. Empty and defrost the fridge the night before. If your street is tight β most of the inner west and eastern suburbs are β check whether your council needs a temporary parking permit for a truck.

Moving morning
Keep one box aside with kettle, mugs, phone chargers, medication, toilet paper, bedding and a change of clothes. Load it last so it comes off first. Everything else can wait until the beds are back together.

About the author: Saif
Co-founder & Operations β Two Brothers Removals
Saif is the one you'll usually meet on the driveway. More than 7,000 Sydney moves later he still runs the daily schedule, briefs each crew before they leave the depot, and jumps on the jobs with tight access, heavy pianos or a same-day deadline.
He built the way we wrap and load: blankets on every timber edge, mattress covers as standard, straps against the wall of the truck rather than through your furniture. If a job runs into a stairwell nobody measured or a lift the building forgot to book, Saif is the phone call that sorts it out while the crew keeps working.
